PermaWALL is offered in a full dual wall system (PermaWALL+) OR a minimum stud assembly non insulated.
Short term payback analysis demonstrates that the PermaWALL+ fully insulated dual wall system is a wise choice for a cost effective high-performance envelope. Choices in wall profile meet the needs of code minimum or up to 3 times over energy code. PermaWALL is typically shipped vertical and any panel is lift accessible when the load arrives. Walls are up to 10' high and 20' long as well as tall walls up to 10' wide x 24' long. Walls come off our delivery trailer and straight into location maximizing site time and handling efficiency.
ALL PermaWALL+ systems are a main structural wall pre-insulated with Dense-Pack Cellulose plus an interior service wall. A very important feature of PermaWALL+ is the inclusion of an interior service wall free of the critical high performance air and vapour tight main wall. This allows quick and easy access for wiring and other mechanical needs and quality assurance of assembled air tightness is very high. Interior wall framing may be oriented horizontal or vertical. Horizontal interior framing allows fast lateral wire runs and low profile air ducting. PermaWALL+ ranges from 6 1/4" to 17 7/8" thick -before drywall. The main wall is the structural wall containing insulation and structural headers.
ALL PermaWALL systems are quoted "SIDING READY" with exterior weather wrap and 10 mm rain screen pre-applied 12" o.c. The initial intention of the "Rain screen" was water management and air pressure on the outside of the building. It is also beneficial for summer heat management and preservation of the siding. Since the mass of the high insulation walls increase the exterior surface temperatures, the siding sees this exposure. In the heat of summer the rain screen allows extra cooling behind the siding system.
In all building systems used for occupancy, more insulation and air tightness ALWAYS decreases the installation and monthly energy cost of smaller mechanical systems. Solar panel installations for NET ZERO don't have to be as dense either since minimal power is demanded for heating or cooling. Long term energy savings from PermaWalls can even return the entire cost of the structure and insulation!
PermaWall 4+: a 2x4 structural wall intended for small structures where net loading and insulation is less important and low thickness is demanded. For a small summer cabin, a warm shed, a small work shop or garage. Insulation R-15 to R-20 and thickness 6 1/4".
PermaWall 6+: Is the start of our wall system for conventional framing replacement and excellent for multi-unit construction. The main wall is 2x6 plus the 2.3" service wall interior side. Insulation R-24 to R-33 and thickness 8 3/4" or 9 1/8" before drywall.
PermaWall 8+: Brings high performance and increased payback plus beefier for high snow loads and tall wall designs. The main wall is 2x8 plus the 2.6" service wall interior side. Insulation R-31 to R-42 and thickness 8 3/4" or 9 1/8" before drywall.
PermaWall 10+: Delivers high NET ZERO ENERGY performance and shortest payback term. The main wall is 2x10 plus the 3.5" service wall. Insulation R-40 to R-54 and thickness 13 5/8" before drywall.
PermaWall 12+: is the ultimate for truly high NET ZERO ENERGY performance and shortest payback term if living off-grid. The main wall is 2x12 plus the service wall interior side of 3.5 or 5.5". Insulation R-48 to R-68 and thickness 15 5/8" to 17 7/8" before drywall.
